WFAE is proud to help bring the Integrated Learning Specialist Program to Tri-Valley schools for the first time. This program is provided by the Alameda County Office of Education, and builds educators’ knowledge and skills in project-based, arts integrated and culturally responsive strategies for improving their teaching of the new Common Core curriculum. Working with the leaders of the Tri-Valley school districts, the WFAE team identified professional development for integrating arts into the Common Core as an area of opportunity for our local schools. Starting in spring 2016, one elementary school from each Tri-Valley school district (Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton and San Ramon) will be selected to participate and help launch this exciting program.
